City Seeks Feedback on Snow and Ice Control

Winter road maintenance affects everyone in Medicine Hat – whether driving, walking, cycling or using public transit. With memories of winter fresh on everyone’s minds, the City is seeking community feedback as part of a review on how it manages snow and ice control. Open Houses will take place on April 4 at the City’s Municipal Works facility at 188 Kipling Street SE and on April 9 in the Sage Room at the Family Leisure Centre. Both sessions will run from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm and the City will launch the Snow and Ice Control Community Survey on April 4, 2019. The survey will be open until April 25, 2019.

The last time the City reviewed its snow and ice control practices was in 2011. The goal is to complete this review in early 2020. In addition to listening to the community, the City’s Municipal Works department will also look at current industry best practices and new technology available. Visit the Project Web Page for more information and to take the survey. The survey link will also be shared on medicinehat.ca and via social media.
