Medicine Hat Stampede Organizers Celebrate Success

After two years of limited operations, the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede returned full force this summer, as did supporters, Stampede officials say. As of Monday, official Stampede turnout numbers had not yet been released, but when interviewed Friday, general manager Ron Edwards said attendance for night shows, free entertainment stages and rodeos had exceeded exceptions.

Stampede featured live concerts from Mackenzie Porter, Trace Adkins and The Beach Boys. Upcoming Stampede events can be found on their website.

Convenient access to workplace health, safety rules

The OHS legislation search tool consolidates the OHS Act, regulation and code into one interactive, online resource.

The tool will enable employers and workers to more efficiently access and apply the health and safety rules that apply to their workplace. A searchable web-based version of the legislation means Albertans can quickly navigate and share individual sections from all three components of OHS legislation in one place. This format is designed for use on both computers and mobile devices.

Improving Child and Youth Mental Health in Schools

As part of Alberta’s recovery-oriented system of mental health and addiction care, it is essential that children and youth are supported to improve their mental health. This starts by improving access to in-school supports for students. New funding of $42 million over three years will increase access to mental wellness supports and clinical mental health supports in schools.

In addition, Alberta’s government is improving access to pediatric rehabilitation supports for children and youth. New funding of $45 million over three years will increase access to pediatric rehabilitation services and programs such as speech-language, occupational and physical therapy. Read More.
