Lisa Dressler, Executive Director
Lisa is passionate about our community and seeing growth and prosperity within our region. She enjoys seeking out opportunities and finding out what's possible in what sometimes seems impossible. Community building is important to Lisa and she knows that to see change happen, she needs to be an active part of that change and contribute as an agent of change. The Chamber of Commerce has provided her the opportunity to put her strength and passion to work, as we strive to connect and support our business community through partnerships, networks, resources, programs and through our influence. Lisa puts her passion, knowledge, resources, connections and network to influence meaningful change in our community. Having served in this role since 2009, she brings knowledge and experience gained through the Chamber and our network, coupled with her past experiences and knowledge to serve our business community.
Becky Mae, Member Relations
Becky joined the Chamber team in January of 2023, having lived in Medicine Hat since 2006. Becky is Alberta born and raised, coming to the sunny southeast from the Edmonton region. She brings not only knowledge of operating her own business since 2011, but also working with and assisting other businesses. Many people in Medicine Hat may also recognize her from her work in some of our schools, her coaching, and her collaborations. Becky looks forward to supporting our business community, building various collaborations and opportunities within our business community, as well as ongoing learning through her work and the ability to create new relationships every day.
Brad Tajiri, Events Manager
Brad joined the Chamber team in October 2023 after re-locating back home to Medicine Hat. Born and raised in Southern Alberta he enjoys all that the region has to offer both recreationally and professionally. Brad brings a varied background and vast knowledge gained from his years spent in the retail, management, food & beverage and sales industries. He is passionate about the community of Medicine Hat, proud to be a ‘Hatter’ and loves to showcase all that our city has to offer during The Chamber hosted events.
Kerry Knowles, Finance & Operations
Kerry joined the Chamber in September 2021 as the Finance and Operations Administrator, she comes with a huge spectrum of experience and knowledge in HR (administration), finance, welfare, operations, and retail. She started her career as a Data Entry Clerk in the UK, she then joined her husband who was at the time stationed in Germany and had to adapt quickly to a different way of life. In the nearly 20 years that Kerry was stationed with her husband in Germany, UK, Cyprus and finally Canada where she held various job positions in different locations displaying how highly adaptable she was to an ever-changing environment. Since settling in Canada in 2013 she has embraced the Canadian way of life and made Medicine Hat her home. Kerry is looking forward to giving back to the community where possible.
Morgan Johnson, Communications & Marketing Coordinator
Morgan moved to Medicine Hat in 2020 from BC to attend school here, and loved the community so much she decided to stay. She joined the Chamber team in May 2023 as a summer intern, and everyone was so happy she never left! With a Bachelor's in Art & Design, the local artists, galleries and murals are what brings her joy. She’s passionate about the community, finds communication important, thinks design is fascinating and loves to support local! She's dedicated to finding creative solutions for any problems that arise and is ready to help you solve yours!
Alex Zabel, Industry Support & Government Relations
Alex is an eternal optimist, believing that problems are always solvable. She was raised in a family of entrepreneurs and has run her communications company since 2015. She has worked with many organizations of various sizes across multiple countries. Alex started with the Chamber in July 2022 bringing an enthusiasm for policy (yes, really!) and experience working in government and politics. She’s relentless in her efforts to support business and is dedicated to doing everything she can to help her community thrive.
